Professor Gordon L. Amidon from the University of Michigan, MI, USA Professor Amidon is one of the leading experts in the pharmaceutical sciences whose contributions to basic science have had an enormous impact on academia, the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory agencies. He is recognized throughout the world for his contributions to the physical chemistry of oral drug delivery, prodrug design and his leadership role in molecular biopharmaceutics. His initialization, conceptualization and implementation of the Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS) made world wide impact on regulatory approaches to the development of pharmaceutical dosage forms. In Germany he will continue to establish a publicly accessible data base containing biopharmaceutical information on drugs used in therapy world wide.
